The goal of this student driven project is to begin to document the history of the Latin American Diaspora. Tens of thousands of Latin Americans are coming to the United States each year for reasons of persecution, violence, and extreme poverty, but also to begin a new life, further their education, and fulfill their professional desires. Their lives, stories, pictures, and oral histories tell the dramatic story of a massive and continuous movement. Latin American Studies at California State University East Bay seeks to collect and archive these stories, collaborate with other institutions, and make the information available to the public.
